How do I blog about the biggest wedding of my career? WOW!
Olga and Dan's wedding is one of my favorites! Not only did we share the same ideas stylistically as well as an appreciation of (or in my case, obsession with) details but they are two of the most gracious, kindest people that you will ever meet.
Olga was absolutely one of the classiest, gracious and well-organized clients we've had. Dan was the Prince Charming who allowed Olga to plan the wedding of the century for them and loved every minute of it. I absolutely LOVED planning with Olga, Dan and Olga's Mom Tatyana. The amount of planning and work that went into this event was amazing. When we started to discuss the type of decor Olga & Dan wanted, they knew they wanted it to be intimate, elegant and jaw-dropping yet unique, and a true representation of their relationship and life together. Olga's one piece de le resistance was her 12 foot cake. It was breath-taking and unbelievable. My husband Matt built an amazing 250 pound base for the cake with the DAC's executive pastry chef. His engineering skills really kicked in for this one!
The bridal bouquets and boutonnieres were beautiful collections of peonies, English garden roses, gardenias and calla lilies. I had a wonderful time collecting vintage broaches to adore each arrangement. The end result was so elegant. Cylinder vases full of flowers and floating candles framed by rose petals graced the aisle all leading to the beautiful focal point of the crystal and chiffon back drop elegantly finished with crystal chandeliers. The reception decor for the day was lavish, romantic, and soft European-garden inspired. An emphasis on luxurious and lush floral and décor warmed up the classic slate that is the historic ballroom of the Detroit Athletic Club. The topiary style centerpieces atop glass double trumpet vases dripping with European crystals and creamy orchids. The arrangements were mounded over with lush arrangements of roses, hydrangea, ranunculus, dahlias, orchids, calla lilies, gardenias and various other garden blooms. The tables were graced with gold leaf glass boxes full of lush floral, stemmed crystal candle holders, gold glass Starburst chargers, ivory satin napkins with rhinestone napkin rings, rosette fabric table numbers, roses at each place setting and of course a sweet note of Godiva Chocolates for each guest. The scene of stopped people dead in their tracks with awe! Exactly what Olga wanted!
Congratulations Olga & Dan! Thank you so much for letting us to take part in your beautiful story!
